MIAMI — Concacaf nations will begin their quest to win the trophy or ascend to a higher league when the 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League begins its group stage this week, with qualification to the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup also at stake.
Additionally, four nations will continue their journey in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2024. In club soccer, the 2024/25 Concacaf W Champions Cup continues with its second matchweek.
Concacaf Nations League
The 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League kicks off on Wednesday with three encounters in League C. Teams in Leagues A and B begin their campaigns on Thursday.
Teams in League A will play for a chance to advance to the 2024 CNL Finals and compete for the trophy. League B and C teams will aspire for promotion to continue their quest in lifting the championship in one of the following editions.
The Nations League will also help to decide qualification for the 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup. Depending on their placement, teams can qualify directly or move on to the preliminaries.

Concacaf W Champions Cup
The inaugural W Concacaf Champions Cup continues this week with two doubleheaders on Wednesday and Thursday. NWSL clubs NJ/NY Gotham FC and Portland Thorns will make their debuts during the second matchweek.
LD Alajuelense and Club América Femenil will seek their second wins of the campaigns. Santa Fe FC and CF Monterrey Femenil will search for their first victories with home encounters.

FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup
Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico and the United States are representing the Concacaf region at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2024 in Colombia. The four nations qualified due to their placements in the 2023 Concacaf Women's U-20 Championship.
Mexico and Canada featured on opening day with draws against Cameroon and France, respectively. Mexico meets Australia and hosts Colombia this week while Canada will meet Fiji and Brazil.
The United States lost by the minimal difference against Spain on Sunday and will seek to rebound against the likes of Morocco and Paraguay to close the group stage.
Costa Rica begins its campaign against the Netherlands next Monday. They will then face Korea DPR and Argentina, with the latter closing out the group stage on Sunday.
The top two teams in each group and the four best third-place teams will advance to the Round of 16. The knockout stage will begin next week.
