Although their performance was quite lackluster when compared to the level they have shown this season, FC Barcelona were still able to get a crucial 2-4 win against Atletico Madrid last night.

The Blaugranes put in a heroic performance in the last 20 minutes of the game to overturn their two-goal deficit and the contributions of one particular player were once again crucial for them.

This player is none other than Ferran Torres, who got on the pitch only in the 67th minute, and only a few minutes after his substitution, saw his side’s deficit increase with Sorloth’s goal. However, Robert Lewandowski needed only seconds to cancel out this second goal.

Then, only 11 minutes after stepping on the pitch, the former Manchester City forward got on the scoresheet as he headed the ball into the back of the net following an accurate cross from Raphinha to equalize the scores.

Lamine Yamal then struck in injury time to give his side the lead for the first time in the game. However, Torres still found time to add another goal to his tally, as he scored his team’s fourth goal of the night in the very last seconds of the match.

As Mundo Deportivo has noted, with these goals, the Spaniard continues to show the incredible efficiency that has characterised him throughout the length of this season.

In 705 minutes spread over 20 La Liga matches, he has now scored 7 goals, and thus scores after every 100 minutes on average.

But his overall scoring average is even better, as he has scored 13 goals in 1127 minutes that he has played in the 32 games in La Liga, Copa del Rey, UEFA Champions League, and Spanish Super Cup, averaging a goal every 86 minutes.

However, one can argue that his goals last night were the most important, as these helped Barcelona get a crucial win over a direct La Liga rival, and this win can end up helping them clinch the league title this season.
