25-year-old Barcelona star has made a clear decision on his future despite Hansi Flick’s insistence – Report | OneFootball

FC Barcelona might be preparing for the final of the Spanish Super Cup with an El Clasico on the horizon but there is something off-the-field that is currently going, much like it almost always does with regards to the Catalan club.

The main issue that is going on around Barcelona at the moment is the future of Ronald Araujo who finds himself heavily linked with a transfer to Juventus this transfer window. The Catalan club is even set to hold a face-to-face meeting with their club captain to discuss his future.

Yesterday, in the press conference, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick was quizzed about the situation surrounding Ronald Araujo and the German tactician offered words of praise for the Uruguayan and admitted that he was counting on him.

However, despite Flick’s insistence, as per Mundo Deportivo, Ronald Araujo has made a clear decision to leave Barcelona this month itself. The player wants to move on to a new challenge and Juventus is a great opportunity.

Juventus, on the other hand, are making no effort to hide their admiration for the player. One thing is clear—the Old Lady is prepared to go all out, leaving Barcelona with a choice: either convince Araujo to stay or accept a transfer fee and let him leave.

Araujo was a club favorite for much of his time and was loved by the Barcelona faithful. However, over the last 12 months, the relationship has turned strenuous and this is very much visible in how this entire transfer saga has played out.

The Uruguayan was given the armband at a very young age and expected to become a club legend like Carlos Puyol and Gerard Pique. However, it does look like, much like Ousmane Dembele, he is going to leave Barcelona and strain his relationship here.

Even now, fans are hoping against hope that Araujo commits and stays at Barcelona and also extends his contract. However, his days at the club seem numbered and let’s wait and see how it plays out going forward.
