FC Barcelona have had a wildly successful 2024-25 season, and Hansi Flick deserves full credit for leading his team to success despite the difficult circumstances.

One of the handicaps that the German tactician faced at the Catalan club was the lack of a lot of signings for his first season in charge, owing mainly to the financial fair play problems the club has been facing for some years now. Last year, the Blaugranes incorporated only two players in their team, i.e., Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.

Manchester City interested in Dani Olmo

The latter has been used scarcely by the German coach, but the former has been a key part of his team this season, and has impressed quite a lot with his return to Spain.

As a result, it is not really a surprise to see the English side, Manchester City, remaining interested in him. The Citizens had already tried to incorporate him back in 2023, and Pep Guardiola still loves him, but as SPORT has reported, both Olmo and Barcelona are clear that their future lies together.

Olmo and Barcelona remain committed

The midfielder’s agent recently made it clear that they are not in talks with another team, as Olmo is very happy at the Blaugrana club. Meanwhile, Deco transmitted a similar sentiment, commenting that the midfielder will remain an important player for Flick’s team next season.

Although injuries have kept him from playing consistently, he has still been differential for the Catalans, especially in this late phase of the season. He was key in helping the team get a result in the matches against Las Palmas and Mallorca, while against Celta Vigo, he was again essential as he scored a goal and won a penalty in the very last minutes of the game.

Prior to that, he also had a glittering start to the season, as he scored in three consecutive games after his registration. He has enjoyed full support from Hansi Flick, as the German coach has never shied from making him know that he is an important part of the team.

Furthermore, the Blaugrana coach has also proven his words with his actions, as Olmo remains a part of his starting eleven, despite the high competition for the attacking midfield position, with Fermin Lopez and Gavi also contending for minutes.
