A trio of first-team stars at La Liga giants Real Madrid are set to miss the club’s upcoming meeting with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
That’s according to Blancos insider Miguel Ángel Díaz of COPE, who has provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
Real are of course primed to return to action on Tuesday night.
Fresh off a damaging 1-0 defeat at the hands of Valencia in La Liga on Saturday, the capital heavyweights will make the trip to England, for a Champions League quarter-final first-leg showdown with the aforementioned Arsenal.
In efforts to secure a return to winning ways at The Emirates, though, Real Madrid will be forced to make do without several high-profile players.
First up comes Aurélien Tchouaméni, suspended for Tuesday’s north London clash.
And also expected to miss out, as per COPE, are Ferland Mendy and Dani Ceballos.
Defender Mendy and midfielder Ceballos have both been sidelined for several weeks now, albeit with the latter’s return to training this week having given rise to hope surrounding his status to face Arsenal.
Ceballos, however, will not be available to face his former club, at least in London, amid confirmation that both he and Mendy have been ruled out.
