Spanish transfer site Fichajes are always trying to cook up something fun, and this week is no exception.

They’re claiming that Eduardo Camavinga is on the “exit ramp” from Real Madrid, with a €70m price tag set for the midfielder who has apparently not matched up to the incredibly high standards at the Bernabeu.

With that money, they’ve found 3 players to target to replace him: Joao Neves of PSG, Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace, and Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea.

The Enzo links to Real Madrid are nothing new – he was being linked there before he had even moved to Chelsea. But they’ll suddenly seem a lot more realistic if Camavinga is indeed sold. That will give Madrid the gap in their team and the cash to make a bid for someone like Enzo realistic.

After spending more than £100m on him, Chelsea will be reluctant to sell. A price tag of €80m is mentioned here, but we don’t think the Blues would be willing to take any loss at all on their asset. With years left on his contract, there is not going to be any rush from Chelsea. It would take a major effort on the player’s side to make this happen.

Fernandez’s story at Chelsea so far is a strange one – he has obvious quality, he clearly really cares and shows great passion, he’s racked up a good number of goals and assists. He’s had some really good patches of form this season.

But there are also doubts about his athleticism sometimes, and we’ve seen him blown past by bigger, faster players. We think the prospect of selling him would really split fans, with some enjoying the chance to bail on this investment and others insisting we should stick with him.
