Real Betis picked up their third-straight La Liga win on Saturday following an impressive 2-1 comeback triumph over Real Madrid at home.
Manchester United loanee Antony played the full 90 minutes and delivered another strong performance for the Seville outfit.
The 25-year-old had a passing accuracy of 90 percent. He won seven duels with six recoveries, three successful tackles and two clearances.
Antony also created two big chances for his teammates. He did not make a goal contribution but was certainly one of the best players for Betis.
Earlier this week, United manager Ruben Amorim highlighted that the extra physicality of English football has been the reason behind Antony’s struggles.
The Brazilian provided the perfect response with plenty of defensive involvements yesterday. United will hope he can stay consistent until the summer.
Antony has five goal involvements in seven games for Betis. If he can continue to contribute, United could recoup a reasonable fee in the next transfer window.
The former Ajax attacker has a Transfermarkt value of just £16.5 million, but the Red Devils will be aiming for at least double (£33m) to sanction his sale.
Juventus are said to be interested in the Sao Paulo graduate, and there could be more interest in the coming weeks if Antony keeps shining for Betis.
Amorim has identified Sporting CP’s Geovany Quenda as a replacement for Antony. Talks are advanced to bring the 17-year-old wonderkid to Old Trafford.
Aside from Antony, there is a possibility that Alejandro Garnacho could be sold in the summer as the club look to secure pure profit to balance their books.
