AC Milan are ready to face Parma on matchday 22 in Serie A at 12:30 CET on Sunday 26 January at San Siro. Under the guidance of Coach Sérgio Conceição, the Rossoneri are aiming to bounce back in the league after their recent defeat, while Parma, led by Coach Fabio Pecchia, are hoping to climb the standings. With both teams eager to improve their positions, the match promises to be an exciting counter. With kick-off fast approaching, here is our Match Preview.

LATEST FROM MILANELLO AC Milan come into this match after a period of mixed results. In their last Serie A outing, the team suffered a 2-0 defeat to Juventus, putting an end to an unbeaten run. However, in the Champions League, the Rossoneri showed character to get the better of Girona. The team are determined to find consistency in the league and make the most of home advantage. On the injury front, there's some positive news regarding Christian Pulisic: the US international is back fit and expected to start down the right. Bennacer, Fofana (the only player on the verge of suspension) and Reijnders are likely to once again line up in midfield, while - as was the case in Europe - Calabria is set to come in for the injured Emerson Royal. Samuel Chukwueze is available again (he'll be named on the bench), but Florenzi, Loftus-Cheek and Thiaw remain out.

LATEST FROM PARMA The Gialloblu arrive at San Siro following a 1-1 draw against Venezia in their last Serie A match. Coach Pecchia's side have shown signs of recovery after a challenging period, earning five points in their last four games. Parma will look to capitalise on every opportunity to cause problems for AC Milan and improve their league position. The Gialloblu have a long injury list: in addition to the players whose seasons are already over (Charpentier, Circati e Kowalski), Balogh, Bernabé, Bonny and Osorio are all out. The four players they've signed so far this transfer window are all available, although only former Genoa man Vogliacco is expected to start. The other three - Djurić, Løvik and Ondrejka - will be hoping to make an impact off the bench. Pecchia is likely to select Man in his starting line-up, while Delprato and Keita are both one booking away from suspension.

"As is always the case, it's a match we need to play until the very end," said Fabio Pecchia in his pre-match press conference. "It'll be different compared to the Venezia game, but we need to go for it against AC Milan. They're a big European side with strength and quality, and they'll force us to spend long periods out of possession. I expect a big performance from everyone, and we'll have to be proactive when we get on the ball. We need to show the same desire as always."

They're also the two sides who have had the most shots following a counter-attack (27 for the Gialloblu, 26 for the Rossoneri).
  • Only Inter (seven) have had more players score at least three goals than AC Milan and Parma in Serie A this season: five each (along with Atalanta and Napoli).
  • Only against Venezia (four) has Theo Hernández scored more goals than against Parma (three, the same as against Torino) in Serie A. Should he set up a teammate to score, our our No.19 would become the first defender with at least three goals and at least three assists to his name in each of the last six seasons in the top five European leagues.
