Standard Liege defender Nathan Ngoy is set to miss between four to six months with an injury. The youngster, who was very close to a move to Luton Town in the summer, has suffered another injury set back. This time the injury was to the meniscus in his left knee. The club announced that the operation was successful but that the rehabilitation time is for a number of months.

This will certainly be a blow to both player and club. Last season, Ngoy was one of the few shining lights in a struggling Standard side. The 21-year-old played 17 matches and scored once. So far this season he has only managed four appearances and is unlikely to make many more. Whether this will impact his chances of a transfer next season remains to be seen, but for the club it will likely lower any transfer fee, especially with the player having one year left on his current deal. Hopefully Ngoy can make it back before the end of the 2024/2025 season.
