Agent Of Romania Star Admits ‘Mistake’ Kept Him At Inter Milan This Summer | OneFootball

The agent of goalkeeper Andrei Radu admits it was a “mistake” to reject offers this summer, leaving him stranded at Inter Milan.

Agent Oscar Damiani spoke to reporters at the Palermo Football Conference, via FCInterNews. He admitted that his client is in a “difficult situation” after failing to secure a move away from the Nerazzurri.

For the entire summer transfer window, it seemed like a foregone conclusion that Radu would leave Inter.

The 26-year-old is certainly not a player with any part in the Nerazzurri’s first plans.

And Radu found himself back at Inter after a loan spell at Bournemouth last season.

It was little surprise that the Premier League club did not sign Radu on a permanent basis at the end of his loan. He barely featured in his season on loan at the Vitality Stadium.

Therefore, it was back to square one for Radu as far as looking for a new club.

In the 2022-23 season, Radu had been out on two separate loan spells. He spent the first half of the campaign at Cremonese, and then the second at Auxerre.

Out of his recent loan spells, it was only at Auxerre that Radu was the first-choice starter.

Therefore, the Romanian always made it clear that his only priority for the summer transfer window was that he join a club where he would receive playing time so he could find consistent form.

There was some interest in Radu’s signature.

And in the end, a lot of the strongest links were to clubs in Serie B.

All of Sassuolo, Sampdoria, and Palermo showed an interest in signing the Romanian for this season.

However, Radu rejected these offers. And in the end, he simply stayed at Inter, where he is out of the project.

Agent Damiani said that “I’ve been representing Radu since he was young, and he’s had a lot of setbacks.”

“But then he’s also made mistakes of his own.”

“One of the biggest, as I’ve told him and repeated publicly, is to not want to join Palermo in Serie B,” Radu’s agent said.

“He wasn’t sure about coming to Serie B. But for me, that was a mistake by him.”

“Now he’s in a difficult situation,” Damiani said.

“We’re waiting for a club who believes in him,” the agent added.
