Al-Hilal have sealed their fourth Saudi Pro League title in five years with a 4-1 win against Al-Hazem.
Three of their goals came from two of the many European-based stars they signed last summer, Serbian pair Aleksandar Mitrović (two) and Sergej Milinković-Savić.
The win put Al-Hilal 12 points clear of second-placed Al-Nassr with just three games to go, giving them a record-extending 18th title.
That means that despite having a league-high 33 goals this season, Cristiano Ronaldo will not take home a league winner’s medal, at least for this year.
The PIF-owned club’s title success came despite their biggest star, Neymar, missing the majority of the season with a serious knee injury.
The question now is who will Al-Hilal look to sign this summer as they gear up for a crack at the Asian Champions League next season?
