Al-Hilal have identified Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella as one of their marquee targets this summer.
La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Saudi Pro League club plans to offer the Italian international €35 million per year on a four-year deal, almost three times his current salary.
However, Barella is not interested in the move and only wants to succeed with the Italian giants.
The 28-year-old has been an integral part of Inter since 2020, bagging 25 goals and 59 assists in 273 appearances.
He has developed into one of the finest players in Europe with his top-quality performances for club and country.
Barella was instrumental in Inter’s Scudetto triumphs in 2021 and 2024 and the runners-up finish in the 2022-23 Champions League.
He has also been in fine nick this season, helping Inter top the Serie A table and reach the Champions League quarter-finals and semi-finals of Coppa Italia.
Manager Simone Inzaghi views Barella as a pivotal figure in his project. The midfielder signed a contract extension until 2029 last year.
Meanwhile, Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s contract expires in the summer, and his future is unclear.
The Nerazzurri are looking to bring in Como’s young Argentine sensation Nico Paz to replace the Armenian midfielder.
The Italian giants have already signed Croatian midfield talent Petar Sucic from Dinamo Zagreb for a reported €16 million. The 21-year-old will join the Nerazzurri this summer.
