After failing to find a suitable buyer during the winter transfer window, FC Nantes welcomed a pair of players back into the fold. Alban Lafont (26) and Fabien Centonze (29) were placed on the club’s transfer list, but neither were moved by the deadline on Monday.

Nantes manager Antoine Kombouaré spoke last week, saying:

“We have done everything so that he can find a destination, it is not the case, we welcome him with great joy, he has to put himself in rank, to work normally.”

Lafont had been the first-choice goalkeeper for La Maison Jaune in past years, but Patrik Calgren (33) replaced him in that position earlier in the campaign. At the same time, the club signed veteran Anthony Lopes (34) from Olympique Lyonnais in late December, putting Lafont further down in the pecking order.

Centonze, meanwhile, has missed a good portion of the current Ligue 1 campaign with a cruciate ligament injury, making just two appearances for Nantes domestically in 2024-25. Since making 23 appearances in the French top flight during the 2022-23 season, Centonze has only played in a combined five Ligue 1 affairs. He did spend a portion of 2023-2024 on loan at Hellas Verona in the Italian Serie A.
