The Atlético de Madrid forward hit an incredible hat-trick in the opening 11 minutes of his side's LaLiga encounter with Real Sociedad on Saturday evening.

Sørloth's clincher, arriving at the tail end of the opening stages, saw him set a new Spanish top flight record for the quickest three-goal haul in its history.

Before the Norway international claimed the match ball, LaLiga's previous record had stood for 30 years courtesy of Bebeto's triple for Deportivo La Coruña in 1995.

But while the legendary Brazilian clocked in at four minutes and 43 seconds, Sørloth obliterated that feat with his return in a breathtaking three minutes and 57 seconds.

Sørloth could soon lay claim to Bebeto's other achievement of scoring five times in a single match after extending his tally shortly before the half-hour mark.
