Amad Diallo steals the show with late hat-trick as Man Utd beat Southampton | OneFootball

Manchester United forward Amad Diallo bagged a hat-trick as his team came from behind to nick a win against Southampton in the Premier League tonight.

The Saints were determined to sneak a memorable result at Old Trafford and took the lead. United had a torrid day, with Kamaldeen Sulemana and Tyler Dibling causing havoc, especially for Leny Yoro.

However, United refused to stay down, and Diallo led their late resurgence. After fine centre-forward play, Joshua Zirkzee shifted the ball to the 22-year-old, who darted into the box to score in the 82nd minute.

The winger was not done as he steamed into the boxing in the 90th minute, played in by Christian Eriksen, and netted his second to turn the game around.

Southampton manager Ivan Juric was fuming. They had given a brilliant account of themselves but were undone by the Ivory Coast attacker.

Diallo continued to torture the Saints and pounced on a loose pass and touch to bag a memorable hat-trick.

He now has six goals and six assists, making him the first African player to record 10+ Premier League goal involvements in a single season for Man United.

He also scored the fifth fastest hat-trick in Premier League history.

The former Atalanta star is the second youngest Man Utd player to score a Premier League hat-trick after Wayne Rooney.

Diallo’s performance is an indictment on former manager Erik ten Hag, who barely gave him chances to prove his mettle.

The Ivorian has cemented himself as a cornerstone for Man United’s future.
