Mario Joseph Gabelli, founder, chairman, and CEO of New York-based firm Gabelli Asset Management Company Investors, has reportedly made an opening offer to acquire a minority stake in Monza, who are working to ‘identify a business partner.’

American investor Gabelli has opened talks with Monza owners Fininvest, led by the Berlusconi family, to acquire a minority stake in the Serie A club.

La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere della Sera report that Gabelli has opened preliminary talks with Monza owners, making an opening offer to acquire a minority stake in the club.

A Fininvest spokesperson quoted by Gazzetta said that the company “would not discuss” specific investors but confirmed “ongoing talks with potential partners, none of which are at an advanced stage.”

The spokesperson also confirmed that Monza are working to “identify a business partner that can help and contribute to the club’s development.”

Half of Serie A clubs in the 2024-25 campaign are owned by foreign owners. Among them are the Americans Rocco Commisso (Fiorentina), Gerry Cardinale (Milan), Dan and Ryan Friedkin (Roma) and Kyle Krause (Parma).
