Following the emergence of Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. being snubbed for the 2024 Ballon d’Or, AS now reports that the Spanish capital giants will be missing out on another trophy at tonight’s ceremony.

While the spotlight was on Vinicius and his supposed Ballon d’Or triumph, which is no longer expected to happen, Real Madrid have nominees in other categories as well.

One such nominee was Los Blancos’ manager who was in the running to win the Best Coach of the Year award.

After all, Ancelotti had led Real Madrid to the UEFA Champions League, La Liga, and Spanish Super Cup triumphs last season while he also won the UEFA Super Cup in August this season.

However, as per the report from AS, the legendary Italian tactician is not expected to win the Best Coach award at the Ballon d’Or ceremony tonight.

Instead, the prize is set to be handed to Spain manager Luis de la Fuente, who led La Roja to the UEFA Euro 2024 triumph in Germany this past summer.

With Rodri set to win the Ballon d’Or and De la Fuente likely to bag the Best Coach trophy, it appears to be a clean sweep for the Spanish national team as Lamine Yamal is the frontrunner for the Kopa Trophy as well.

As for Real Madrid, following Vinicius’ snub, they have decided not to attend the ceremony in Paris. There will be zero presence from the club at tonight’s gala in Paris.
