Everton are most likely to win the race to sign Sparta Prague midfielder Angelo Preciado, according to a report from Tuttosport.
The Italian media reported that the 26-year-old midfielder is set to move to Goodison Park in the January transfer window.
Turkish outfit Fenerbahce were also in the race to sign Preciado, but it appears that Everton are set to sign him for a fee of around £5 million.
David Moyes said last week that he is confident that Everton will sign a few players before the end of the window, and the Toffees are actively looking to do some business.
Everton are enjoying a mini-resurgance under Moyes after replacing Sean Dyche.
While the Toffees are still 16th in the Premier League table, they have picked up some important points under the new manager.
Everton have now picked up two wins in a row in the Premier League after they defeated Brighton 1-0 away from home in the last game.
With Dwight McNeil needing surgery, Moyes needs players who can add more quality in the attacking areas.
Preciado usually plays on the right-wing but he can also play as a right-back. With Seamus Coleman also out injured, he can fill in the role perfectly.
The Toffees do have enough options in the right-back areas. Nathan Patterson and Ashley Young can play there while centre-back Jake O’Brien has recently played as a right-back.
Jesper Lindstrom and Jack Harrison struggled to make an impact in the first half of the season, and clearly signing a new right sided forward is a priority for Moyes.
Everton have been heavily linked with a move for Ernest Nuamah in the January window, but the deal is now unlikely to happen.
He is available at a measly fee, and Everton should do everything to get him on board. If the deal goes through, Preciado could become Moyes’ first signing at Everton since re-joining the club.
