We are on the brink of our first Bundesliga home match of the year. Our boys may have been in Salzburg on continental duty in January, but we are back to league business at our Red Bull Arena tomorrow, Saturday at 17:00 as part of the 18th Matchday of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga with Jakob Semler officiating.
The omens seems positive, with all six of our previous home league meetings with Tirol and our cup last 16 tie in October ending with a win. Captain Mads Bidstrup and his team-mates want to prolong their current five-match unbeaten league run with a fitting performance. It will also be a chance for Alex Schlager – with our goalkeeper set to make his 200th appearance in the Austrian top flight – to celebrate that milestone in style.
WSG will be doing their all to ruin the homecoming, of course, and take another clean sheet. The Tirol side have three clean sheets from their past four league matches and have six points more to their name than they did at this stage last season.
Our Red Bulls have two more home matches before the league is divided in two before the final phase - but Salzburg's schoolkids already have something to mark. With their first semester over, we have a little surprise in store - with purchases of schoolchildren's, teenscard of children's tickets coming with a 50 percent discount!
Al the info on that and everything worth knowing about coming to the stadium can be found here!
All fans can watch the match on Sky Sport Austria, if they are not in the stadium - or on OneFootball if following internationally.

Not avaialble for the match are Daouda Guindo (knee), Takumu Kawamura (collarbone), Maurits Kjaergaard (ankle), Karim Konate (knee) and Aleksa Terzic (adductors).
Oscar Gloukh (hand), Petar Ratkov (knee) and Moussa Yeo (adductors) are doubts.
Our aim for this match can be summed up very easily - we want to show a much better side than we did in Klagenfurt. We want to play better football for a longer period and take three points. We want to perform better than we have done recently and win. We have to concentrate on ourselves and the basics. We cannot make the mistake of thinking we are much better and that it will be easy. That is not true, we are in fifth place for a reason. We will have a tough match and a real battle against WSG. If we take on this battle, we have a good chance of winning.
Thomas Letsch
When it came to deciding a captain, I spent a little time getting to know the team better. I think it is useful for an outfield player to take on the role. Mads Bidstrup plays in the middle, which is ideal. The main criteria is that he is a player who gives his all, identifies with the club and his team - and embodies everything that can make a captain. That makes him the logical choice for me.
Thomas Letsch on naming the captain
Our focus for this match is not so much on the opponents, but on ourselves first and foremost. We had some very good training sessions this week. We now need to put that into practice, take a win and build our confidence. It's a great honour to play for FC Red Bull Salzburg and to captain this club. That really means a lot to me! I hope everyone knows we will give our all to play successful football together in the future and to build a winning mentality.
Mads Bidstrup
