Even though there are not a lot of changes expected in the FC Barcelona squad in the upcoming winter transfer window, this window can prove to be quite consequential for the Blaugranes.

This is mainly because they will have to get two of their players, Pau Victor and Dani Olmo registered with La Liga once again, but they currently do not have the required salary margin for this purpose.

The Catalans have already launched some legal proceedings to ensure this duo remains available to Hansi Flick in the month of January and beyond, but still, there is no doubt that their future at the club remains subject to a lot of uncertainty as they will be free agents if not registered in January.

According to Fichajes, two Premier League clubs are looking to take advantage of this situation to pry away one of these players, Dani Olmo, from Barcelona, i.e., Arsenal and Manchester City. Both these sides are closely monitoring the Spaniard’s situation at the Blaugrana club.

Mikel Arteta sees Olmo as a player who can significantly improve his team’s attack, and Arsenal would like to incorporate him into their squad to enhance their chances of winning the Premier League title.

Similarly, Pep Guardiola also wants him in his team as he believes Olmo would fit perfectly with the requirements of his team, and would provide a lot of versatility and creativity in the midfield.

On the other hand, Barcelona are trying their best to reach a solution to this problem and get the €60m-rated Spaniard player registered with La Liga as soon as possible.

It would be a big blow for Laporta and Deco to lose a player who was their statement signing in the last summer transfer window only six months after his arrival at the Catalan club. But they do not need to be too concerned with this Premier League duo’s interest as to find a way to register him.
