In a recent report, SportBILD (via Sport Witness) claimed that Arsenal are showing interest in Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson. It has been mentioned that the Gunners are keeping tabs on the Swedish youngster’s progress at the German club ahead of a potential move for him in the summer.

Larsson’s Recent Rise In Frankfurt

The 19-year-old has produced a string of eye-catching performances at the heart of Frankfurt’s midfield during this campaign. He has done well to establish himself as one of the best young midfielders in German football. Larsson has scored two goals and secured two assists in 30 appearances for the German outfit this season in all competitions.

The Swedish talent has proven himself to be a reliable performer in the middle of the park based on his average of 1.3 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 1.0 clearances per game in the Bundesliga. He has even been careful when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 86.9% of his attempted passes in the German first division (stats via whoscored).

Larsson’s current contract at Frankfurt will run out in the summer of 2028 which could make it tough for the Gunners to land him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Is Larsson A Good Option For Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta?

Larsson is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure the ball back for his team at the centre of the park. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is an accurate passer of the ball as well.

The Swedish sensation is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as a defensive midfielder if needed. However, he is still quite inexperienced and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level.

We can expect Larsson to bring more bite and steel to Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta‘s midfield department. He might even help the Gunners compete for some major honours over the next decade.

At 19, the future looks quite promising for Larsson which makes him a great option for the North London club to consider in the long run. Thus, Arteta should focus on getting a deal done for him in the upcoming transfer window.
