Arsenal look set to close the signing of one La Liga star, and they are already turning their attention to others – specifically, at Real Madrid.
Martin Zubimendi is expected to join Arsenal in the coming weeks, with an agreement between player and club having already being sealed. In doing so, Real Madrid missed out on the Real Sociedad midfielder, and there could be further trouble brewing for Los Blancos.
According to recent reports, Arsenal are also interested in signing Rodrygo Goes, whose possible exit Real Madrid are believed to be considering. And as it turns out, the Brazil international is not the only player that could swap Madrid for North London this summer.

That’s because Florian Plettenburg (via CaughtOffside) has reported that Arsenal are monitoring Real Madrid youngster Victor Valdepenas ahead of a possible move during the summer transfer window.
“Arsenal have added Juan Gimenez (19, Rosario Central) and Victor Valdepenas (18, Real Madrid Castilla) to their shortlist. Both players are being monitored. They are seen as potential transfer targets for the future.”
Valdepenas is someone that Real Madrid are excited about from within. The young full-back has been included in matchday squads in recent months on the back of impressive performances for the U19 side, who are managed by Alvaro Arbeloa.
But the fact that Real Madrid have looked away from La Fabrica stars in recent years could mean that they consider Valdepenas’ exit – albeit, with the chance to retain some say in his future. But the situation is bound to change in the summer, as Xabi Alonso could be more open to giving opportunities than Carlo Ancelotti was.
It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can tempt Valdepenas away from Real Madrid, but for now, their interest is not too advanced.
