Arsenal are on the hunt for a new CEO after it was revealed that Edu would be leaving the club. The Gunners have seemingly set their sights on Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain’s Luís Campos, Stade Brestois’ Grégory Lorenzi, and AS Monaco’s Thiago Scuro all linked with the soon-to-be-vacant position. However, according to L’Équipe, the latter is now out of the frame.
Arsenal’s interest in Monaco CEO Scuro was first reported by Gianluca Di Marzio. Since succeeding Paul Mitchell at the Principality club in the summer of 2023, the Brazilian, who has never worked in the UK, has led Monaco back into the UEFA Champions League.
His achievements since joining Les Monégasques caught the attention of Arsenal, who considered the possibility of recruiting Scuro as their new sporting director. And whilst this was a consideration, L’Équipe understands that Scuro, who is entirely focused on the project at Monaco, is no longer in contention for the role at the Emirates Stadium.
