Arsenal are reportedly preparing a bold move for one of Real Madrid’s most promising youngsters, Arda Guler.

According to SPORT, the Premier League side is planning to make an offer between €30 million and €40 million in the upcoming summer transfer window.

It is said that while Guler might not be their top priority, the Turkish playmaker is very much on their radar as they look to strengthen their attacking options.

The Gunners, fresh from their commanding 3-0 win over Real Madrid in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final, are not only focused on the return leg at the Santiago Bernabeu but are also laying the groundwork for their summer recruitment.

Manager Mikel Arteta sees value in targeting a young and technically gifted player like Guler, especially given his limited involvement at Real Madrid this season.

A tempting opportunity for Guler

At just 20, Guler is seen as a player with significant potential. However, breaking into Real Madrid’s starting line-up has been a tall order, considering the depth and quality in their squad.

The Turkish midfielder has found first-team minutes hard to come by, which has sparked interest across Europe, particularly in Germany and the Premier League. Arsenal now appear ready to test Madrid’s resolve with a concrete offer.

The North London club see similarities between Guler and their current captain Martin Odegaard—another young talent who once struggled for regular minutes at Madrid before finding his stride in England.

Arteta’s system could offer Guler the ideal platform to develop, with the possibility of rotating between the right wing and the attacking midfield role.

While Arsenal remain focused on making Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi their main signing target this summer, the idea of adding Guler to their ranks is gaining ground.

For now, Real Madrid will have to assess whether a loan deal or a permanent transfer is the best course of action.

Guler’s entourage, however, would favour a permanent exit if meaningful game time at the Bernabeu cannot be guaranteed next season.
