Since Edu announced that he would be departing Arsenal, the Premier League side have been curating a shortlist to replace him. The names on that list are seemingly multiplying. AS Monaco CEO Thiago Scuro has been linked with the role, as has Paris Saint-Germain’s Luís Campos.
Another Ligue 1 director has now been linked with the soon-to-be-vacant role at the Emirates Stadium – Stade Brestois’ Grégory Lorenzi. The sporting director has been a key figure in Brest’s meteoric rise from relegation contenders to UEFA Champions League competitors.
Lorenzi has previously been linked with the likes of Stade Rennais, RC Lens and OGC Nice but in light of interest from elsewhere, he chose to remain at Brest this summer as they prepared to embark on their first-ever European adventure.
Foot Mercato now understands that Lorenzi is also on the list to replace Edu at Arsenal, although he is far from the only one.
