Arsenal have reportedly made enquiries to sign Fiorentina striker Moise Kean.
According to Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato, Arsenal are one of three Premier League clubs to make contact over a possible deal along with West Ham and Newcastle.
Kean is currently enjoying the best season of his career having scored 20 goals in 34 games in all competitions for the Italian club.
The 25-year-old moved to Fiorentina last summer from Juventus for just 13 million euros.
He has also previously played for Everton and Paris St-Germain.
Fiorentina’s general manager Alessandro Ferrari previously revealed that Kean has a release clause in his contract for foreign clubs, saying: “It’s not a condition we liked even though it was requested by the other side, but we tried to conclude it in the best possible way.
“It’s a clause of 52 million that is not only valid abroad: it was made because he wanted this guarantee and we wanted it at all costs. If he then wants to leave, he will also have to give the green light.”
Tutto Mercato say discussions are still in the “preliminary” stages with progress unlikely to be made until after the end of the season.
Arsenal have long been targeting new forward additions and also continue to be linked with Newcastle forward Alexander Isak and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko.
Both would prove very costly, however, with Newcastle said to be demanding more than £100m for Isak.
Nico Williams is another player who has been linked with the Gunners. The wide player helped Spain to glory in the European Championships and is enjoying another good season with Athletic Club.
Arsenal are set to welcome a new sporting director to the club ahead of the summer window in Andrea Berta, who will replace Edu after the Brazilian departed the Gunners earlier this season.
