Dusan Vlahovic is on the Arsenal radar should they opt to add a striker in January, but there’s nothing concretely in the works between them and Juventus at this stage. The Bianconeri wouldn’t slam the door if they received a worthy bid given the saga about his renewal, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.
The Old Lady would need to find a replacement but would be in a better spot than in previous weeks having signed Randal Kolo Muani. The Gunners are making valuations after losing Gabriel Jesus to a torn ACL. They’ll lean on Kai Havertz for the time being.
Vlahovic would align with the Arsenal squad age-wise, as he’s 24, and he’s been fairly productive during his time with Juventus. However, they aren’t fully sold on him in terms of characteristics. They might prefer somebody who moves around more and interplays better with the midfielders and the wingers.
Moreover, the front office has reservations about the size of the investment required to lure the Serb, also factoring in his large wages. They might ask for him on loan without an obligation to buy to evaluate him ahead of a permanent acquisition. It remains to be seen whether the Serie A side would want to do the deal at those conditions.
The Gunners would basically have the same problem as Thiago Motta, as he’d also gladly lean on a center-forward who’s not just a goal-poacher, has better technique, and gets everybody else involved. His sale would make a lot more sense than Andrea Cambiaso’s, but they’d do it only outright and for a large fee.
