Arsenal have been dealt a devastating blow in their Premier League title push, with forward Kai Havertz ruled out for the remainder of the season after tearing his hamstring during the club’s mid-season training camp in Dubai, according to The Athletic.

The 25-year-old sustained the injury earlier this week. The Gunners took a trip to Dubai to relax and recharge ahead of a tumultuous run-in. They made the trip last season before going on that remarkable run of 16 wins in 18 Premier League games.

Unfortunately, Havertz suffered an injury, leaving Arsenal undermanned at centre-forward and in attack in general.

It is unclear whether Havertz will require surgery, but his rehabilitation will now be geared toward returning for the start of the 2025/26 campaign.

Arsenal are already suffering a mini-injury crisis. This Havertz setback only deepens the problem. Star winger Bukayo Saka, who joined the squad in Dubai, is not expected back until March following hamstring surgery in December.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Martinelli remains sidelined for at least another month after picking up a hamstring issue against Newcastle on February 5.

Also, Gabriel Jesus faces a prolonged recovery after suffering a devastating ACL injury last month.

Havertz has been a key figure for Mikel Arteta’s side this season, featuring in nearly every match and delivering 15 goals and five assists across all competitions. His absence leaves Arsenal critically short in attack, with Leandro Trossard, youngster Ethan Nwaneri, and underwhelming Raheem Sterling among the few remaining forward options.

Despite their injury woes, Arsenal opted against making a winter signing to reinforce their forward line, failing in an approach for Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins. Instead, the club chose to prioritise long-term targets for the summer.

With Arteta’s squad already stretched thin – Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Riccardo Calafiori, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and captain Martin Odegaard have all faced spells on the sidelines – this latest setback could prove costly in their pursuit of league leaders Liverpool.

Arsenal are currently six points off the top. The North Londoners travel to Leicester City this weekend before hosting West Ham United and facing Nottingham Forest in a crucial month that will test their title credentials to the limit.
