Arsenal are champions of Europe after a 1-0 win over Barcelona in the 2025 Women’s Champions League final at Lisbon’s Estadio José Alvalade.
Barça were pretty quiet in the first half, but came out with a bit more fire after the break.
Clàudia Pina went close when her deflected shot clipped the bar, but despite having loads of the ball, they couldn’t find a way through Arsenal’s solid back line.
The big moment came about 15 minutes from the end, when Arsenal boss Renee Slegers made a double change that paid off straight away. Beth Mead slipped a lovely reverse pass through to Stina Blackstenius, who made no mistake with the finish.
As you'd expect, Barcelona threw everything forward in the closing stages, but they just couldn’t break Arsenal down, and their two-year grip on the trophy came to an end.
It’s a massive win for the Gunners - their first Champions League title since 2007 - and they’ve not only ended Barcelona’s run, but also stopped them from pulling off back-to-back quadruples.
