Mikel Arteta says Arsenal will hold their next internal performance review next week, as part of a system of regular assessments designed to keep the club moving forward. Speaking ahead of the final game of the season, the manager confirmed the process takes place every two months and includes contributions from across the football and executive departments.
“Our review goes every two months. We will have one next week,” Arteta said. “I will take all that and go to Spain, somewhere very quiet, and start to go through that with some ideas that I already have. It is about putting that into a plan, then everybody is aligned and ready when they walk through that door.”
Arsenal are set to finish second in the Premier League for the third season in a row, and were knocked out of the Champions League in the semi-finals by Paris Saint-Germain. Despite clear signs of progress, Arteta made it clear that he expects more, from himself as well as his players and staff.
“I will do that [review myself] and I am not going to tell you what it is, but I am going to do that for sure,” he said.

With Andrea Berta now in place as sporting director, recruitment plans for the summer are already underway. A new midfielder is on the list, with Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad expected to join. A forward remains the club’s priority, with Arsenal expected to bring in at least one striker. Viktor Gyokeres is currently believed to be the leading target.

Arteta stressed the importance of clear communication and problem-solving within the club. “We all talk, upstairs, with the players, and that is very transparent. That is the culture that we have created,” he said. “If you bring a problem, bring solutions to that problem quickly, and we can share it and we can make the right decision after that.”
The next review will look at what Arsenal have achieved this season, where they fell short, and how they intend to close the gap to the top. Arteta’s message was clear. The work never stops.
