L’Équipe understands that AS Monaco and Olympique de Marseille are both showing interest in Fluminense defensive midfielder Alexsander (20).
Monaco may be in the market for a midfielder. Speaking in a roundtable interview, attended by Get French Football News last week, Les Monégasques’ CEO Thiago Scuro stated that Youssouf Fofana may leave the club this summer. The France international has just one year remaining on his current deal at the Principality club and Monaco may look to cash in now.
Alexsander, a player that Scuro knows well from his time as sporting director at Red Bull Bragantino, is a target for Monaco. The Principality club’s CEO made contact with the Brazilian midfielder two weeks ago and it is thought he will cost at least €7m. However, Les Monégasques may face competition. As reported by Le 10 Sport and confirmed by L’Équipe, Mediterranean rivals Marseille are also tracking Alexsander with a view to a move this summer.
