For the last few years, FC Barcelona have been traveling to the United States for their pre-season tours. The selection of this venue for the Catalans is rather understandable, as the US is one of the biggest markets, and the popularity of football is growing there.

However, next summer, the Blaugrana will have a different destination for their pre-season preparations, as they are set to travel to Asia instead.

Barcelona have already signed an agreement with the Korean company D-Drive Corporation, under which they will play four friendly matches, along with a potential exhibition match scheduled to take place before May 30th.

Two of these friendlies will be played in South Korea while another two will be played in Japan. Now according to a report from Mundo Deportivo, the Asian firm is close to finalizing the two friendlies in South Korea, which are expected to generate around €10 million.

However, the names of the teams against which the Catalans will be playing during this tour have not yet been revealed. For now, a team from the K-League is being considered for this purpose, while another option is to play Barcelona against a selection of the best players from the Korean League.

For the second game, the Blaugranes can face another major European team, with Tottenham and Liverpool among the likely candidates, as neither of these teams will be participating in the upcoming Club World Cup that is scheduled to take place in the USA this summer.

For now, the friendly before 30th May is not confirmed, as it depends on the Catalan team’s path in the UEFA Champions League. The final for the UCL is scheduled for May 31st at the Allianz Arena in Munich, and if Barcelona qualify for this ultimate match of the competition, they will not be able to play the friendly before May 31st.
