Emi Martínez has signed a new contract with Aston Villa that will keep him at the club until 2029.
The World Cup winning goalkeeper moved to Villa Park from Arsenal in 2020, and has since made over 150 appearances for the club, captaining the side on occasion.
During his time at Villa, the 31-year-old has also lifted the World Cup and the Copa América twice with Argentina, and will be key to the club’s ambitions in the Champions League this season.
His previous contract wasn’t set to expire until 2027, but he has put pen to paper on a deal which could see him finish his career with the Villans.
