Retegui has already netted 14 goals in 25 games apart from assisting four. He is averaging 2.4 shots, 0.6 key passes, and 0.2 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Italian plays as a striker and can adapt to different styles of play. He is a killer inside the box, having the abilities to score variety of goals. He is also effective in attacks build-ups though the striker can improve his ball holding trait.
Jhon Duran has been the first-choice striker for Aston Villa ahead of Ollie Watkins this season. The latter’s dip in form has benefit the former solidify his spot and prove himself.
Duran was linked to a move away all summer but in the end, he stayed with the Villans. But now his consistent displays have attracted more interest from clubs. It wouldn’t be surprising if any club submits an official offer for him in the winter window.
To remain prepared, Aston Villa have planned to target Mateo Retegui to fill the space. The striker is already breathing fire in Serie A and can be a great addition to the side. Though Atalanta isn’t willing to let the performer go, an offer of around €55 million might tempt them to change their mind.
