Aston Villa have completed the signing of West Ham United goalkeeper Katelin Talbert on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

The Villans announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 26-year-old has been on West Ham United’s books for the last 17 months. She joined The Hammers from Portuguese side SL Benfica in August 2023. Talbert is yet to make an appearance for West Ham United. The player has spent most of her time in East London out on loan.

Talbert spent last season on loan at Swedish club Djurgårdens IF in a bid to meet the necessary appearance criteria to play in the Barclays Women’s Super League. The keeper made 14 appearances in the OBOS Damallsvenskan.

This season has seen Talbert spend the first half of the campaign on loan at Tottenham Hotspur. She made one appearance for The Lilywhites which came in the group stage of the Subway Women’s League Cup.

Talbert is keen to get regular minutes under her belt and while that opportunity has not been forthcoming at West Ham United, she will hope to challenge for starts whilst on loan at Aston Villa.

The keeper becomes Aston Villa’s first signing of the January transfer window.
