Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana (29) certainly raised eyebrows when he claimed at the weekend that the Red Devils are “way better” than Lyon ahead of travelling to the Rhône region in a UEFA Europa League quarter-final clash at the Groupama Stadium on Thursday evening (21:00 CET).During today’s pre-match press conference, former United midfielder Nemanja Matić (36) slapped back at the claim made by the United goalkeeper. “When you are one of the worst goalkeepers in Man United history, you need to take care what you’re talking about,” said the Serbian international to press gathered at the Groupama Stadium this afternoon. Onana then proceeded to post a reply on X, stating “I would never be disrespectful to another club. We know that tomorrow will be a difficult game against a strong opponent. We focus on preparing a performance to make our fans proud. At least I’ve lifted trophies with the greatest club in the world. Some can’t say the same.”Visibly a jibe at the former United player, who didn’t win a trophy during his time at Old Trafford. The midfielder had previously won the Premier League with Chelsea on three occasions and lifted the FA Cup as a player for the Blues. Manchester United’s press conference is set to take place at the Groupama Stadium later this evening (18:00 CET). GFFN | George Boxall
