Atalanta midfielder Matteo Pessina says Cristian Romero's departure is understandable,

Romero was sold by La Dea to Tottenham this summer.

“These are offers you can't refuse," Pessina told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Even if Atalanta have maintained balanced books, we know the castle is built on this philosophy. President Percassi brought his business idea in football."

Atalanta open their Champions League campaign tonight against Villarreal.

Pessina continued: “They have a unique playing style, which is quite different from the Spanish one, even if the national team doesn't play tiki-taka anymore.
