On Sunday 16 March at 20:45 CET, Inter will be playing a top-of-the-table clash against Atalanta on Serie A Matchday 29. Inzaghi's side, currently in first place on 61 points, are playing La Dea in third on 58 points. It will be the third match between the two teams this season, after Inter's win in the reverse fixture, opening with Djimsti's own goal, before Barella's goal and Thuram's brace. The Nerazzurri also won in the Supercup semi-final thanks to Denzel Dumfries' brace.

Inter are unbeaten in their last twelve against La Dea in Serie A (7W, 5D), which is a record streak. The Nerazzurri have won all of their last five matches against this opposition with an overall score of 16-5, while Atalanta haven't won since 11 November 2018 (4-1 at home). The two sides are playing with a separation of maximum three points in the return fixture for the first time since the last match of Serie A 2019/20 (1 August 2020). In their last three matches (two in the league, one in the Supercup semi-final), Inter have kept three clean sheets.

In the last two seasons in Europe's top five leagues (from 2023/24), only Kylian Mbappé (26) and Erling Haaland (22) have scored more goals away from home than Lautaro Martínez (21, level with Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane).
