Athletic Club dealt injury blow during Girona clash | OneFootball

La Liga outfit Athletic Club have on Sunday been dealt a blow on the personnel front.

As much comes after Oihan Sancet was forced into a premature departure from the club’s meeting with Girona.

Ernesto Valverde’s troops marked their return to action a short time ago, making the trip to the Estadi Montilivi for the club’s final outing pre-international break.

When all was said and done, owing to some heroics on the part of Girona no.1 Paulo Gazzaniga, Athletic were condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 result.

On target for the Basque outfit in Catalunya was midfielder Oihan Sancet, who kept alive what has been a fine start to the campaign with a 5th goal in nine appearances.

Immediately after finding the net, however, the 24-year-old pulled up in evident discomfort.

From here, Sancet was swiftly hauled off for Unai Gómez, with what has since been described by Mundo Deportivo as a left thigh injury.
