Two members of the first-team setup at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid are set to miss the club’s return to continental action this week.

That’s according to Marca, who point towards Clément Lenglet and Pablo Barrios as the pair in question.

For those who may have missed it, both defender Lenglet and midfielder Barrios were forced into premature departures from Atlético’s latest outing.

En route to a 3-1 downing of Leganés on Sunday, the former was forced off just beyond the hour mark, with a knee concern.

Barrios then followed suit in the game’s closing stages, with what appeared to be a muscular issue.

According to Marca, Lenglet has since been condemned to a spell of around a month on the sidelines, having suffered both knee and ankle sprains.

In the case of Barrios, the extent of the damage is yet to be confirmed, but the 21-year-old is also certain to be facing up to a stretch away from the pitch.

Both, as a result, have been ruled out of Atlético’s Champions League meeting with LOSC Lille on Wednesday.
