Striker Marko Arnautovic was the only player who underperformed for Inter Milan in yesterday’s Champions League win over Monaco.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They note that the Austrian had a couple of glaring misses after coming off the bench.

Arnautovic came off the bench for Inter yesterday evening.

The former West Ham United and Stoke City striker came on for Marcus Thuram at the hour mark.

By the time that Arnautovic came on to the pitch, the Nerazzurri were in firm control of the match. They were 2-0 up, whilst Monaco were down to ten men.

Marko Arnautovic did his job in terms of leading the line and giving Thuram a chance to rest.

However, the Austrian international did not manage to get on the scoresheet.

And perhaps he should have.

In the closing stages of the match, Arnautovic had two very good chances. One was a volley, and the other was a header from just a couple yards out.

However, the 35-year-old was not able to get his efforts on target.

Marko Arnautovic still received the applause of the San Siro for his efforts. But for Tuttosport, the Austrian’s misses were poor.
