Ayling: "I've become a Leeds fan now" | OneFootball

"The cross over we didn't know we needed" Leeds United alumni Luke Ayling was spotted at York Races on Thursday afternoon, where he spoke of his pride at the Whites achieving promotion to the Premier League.

Speaking to ITV Racing's Luke Harvey, the former Leeds United star said "I've become a Leeds fan now. I absolutely love the city, I still live here, I will probably live here for the rest of my life, so I’m pleased for them. Hopefully we can get back to where I think Leeds should be."

The defender made 268 appearances across eight seasons, helping Leeds United win promotion back to the Premier League during the 2019/20 season, the first time the club had been in the top flight for 16 years.

Currently plying his trade with Championship side Middlesbrough, Ayling an avid racing fan was stopped by the ITV presenter at York's Dante Festival, saying "I love the races, been a few times, I enjoy it, it’s pretty local to me so I come down for the day."
