Bali Mumba Plymouth Argyle uncertainty emerges following Norwich City decision | OneFootball

Norwich City loanee Bali Mumba, currently out on loan at Plymouth Argyle, is potentially facing an uncertain few days following the Canaries sacking of Dean Smith.

Indeed, with Smith having been sacked as boss at Carrow Road, Plymouth Argyle boss Steven Schumacher has admitted that 21-year-old’s future with the club is potentially unclear.

Mumba has been impressive for the League One league leaders so far this campaign, netting four goals and registering seven assists, which could potentially mean his parent club’s new boss may fancy his own look at the player.

“There have been no conversations with them.” Schumacher revealed following Smith’s sacking, via Eastern Daily Press.

“With Dean Smith leaving we will see how that one plays out, but all of the loan managers are delighted with how their players’ seasons are going.

“They [Plymouth’s loan signings] are putting themselves in the shop window, they are gaining valuable experience and they are enjoying their football, which previously on their other loans they didn’t as much as this.

“We have ticked our box, what we were supposed to do. The agreement was to be until the end of the season and I’m sure they want their players to continue enjoying what they are doing.

“All we have had is assurances of ‘we are happy with how it’s going and we want that to continue’. They haven’t told us any different.”

Schumacher continued on Mumba: “Someone might come in who loves Bali Mumba and if that’s the case then that’s the case, you have got to deal with it.”

“Until that happens, Bali will continue playing here and hopefully keep enjoying it and keep doing what he’s doing.”

The Verdict

You can totally understand why there could be some uncertainty over Bali Mumba with Dean Smith sacked at Norwich City.

Mumba has impressed for Plymouth so far, and any new manager coming in at Carrow Road may want to take a look at him.

Indeed, this likely only gets resolved then when the Canaries put their new boss in charge, however long that may take.

If Norwich are to re-call Mumba, though, they must only do so if they are confident of giving him game time at Carrow Road.

Disturbing a year of development down in League One makes little sense otherwise.
