Joan Laporta’s advisor, Enric Masip, has given a revealing update on FC Barcelona’s current transfer situation, offering insight into key names like Lamine Yamal, Ansu Fati, Luis Diaz, and Joan Garcia.
Speaking to the media, Masip highlighted that although the market is moving, Barcelona are focused on making only precise reinforcements after what was, in his view, a successful season.
A central point of discussion is Jorge Mendes’ visit to Barcelona, where the agent is finalising two important operations: the contract renewal of Yamal and Ansu’s departure to AS Monaco.
Yamal’s extension is virtually sealed and will be announced once the prodigy turns 18. Masip is confident about the youngster’s future at the club.
“I do not suffer. He is happy at Barcelona; it’s the club of his life. He is comfortable with everything, his teammates, his environment, and he has a very strong culé feeling,” said Masip.
“We were lucky that Dembele left, Lamine appeared, and a league that with Mbappe looked like they were going to win it with a 10-point lead, Barça won it,” explained Masip.

On Ansu, who is set to leave on loan to Monaco, Masip struck a more neutral tone, suggesting that the move benefits all parties.
“He’s had a couple of serious injuries, and this season he’s played very little. But he’s still a great player and a great person. The sporting management will decide what is best for everyone,” he stated.
Barcelona’s focus in the current market appears to be on finding a new left winger, with Luis Diaz being the preferred option.
Masip confirmed that Nico Williams is no longer on the radar, hinting that the club moved on due to the player not seizing his opportunity.
“My father used to say that the train passes once. If the president said the train has passed, then the president is always right,” he added, seemingly closing the door on a future pursuit of Nico.

Regarding the goalkeeper position, Masip acknowledged links to Joan Garcia from Espanyol but avoided giving a definitive answer.
“I like him, but Deco is in charge. I don’t talk football with people who know more than me,” he quipped.
He also addressed concerns about Marc-Andre ter Stegen, who recently returned from a long-term injury. Masip stood by the German shot-stopper.
“He’s come back early, which is a success. His injury was serious, and goalkeepers are mentally different. I don’t see anything strange, as performance is judged daily by professionals, not hearsay,” Masip concluded.
