Barcelona are looking to make some late moves in the ongoing transfer window, with Marcus Rashford of Manchester United being their primary target.
Any move for the 27-year-old Englishman, however, will only be possible if the Catalans are able to offload a player or two and create some salary space.
As such, the name of Ansu Fati had emerged as a possible candidate to be moved on, given that he does not feature in manager Hansi Flick’s plans. But so far, the Spanish forward has refused to leave.
And, MARCA reports that Barcelona see it as unlikely that Ansu Fati will change his stance and secure a late exit like he had done in the summer of 2023.
Indeed, back in 2023, Fati had refused to leave Barça until the final day of the transfer window, before eventually moving to Brighton & Hove Albion on loan for the entire season.

However, Barcelona executives do not expect a change in the La Masia graduate’s stance as the player’s decision to stay seems more resolute.
Ansu has not featured significantly in Flick’s plans. He was excluded from the squad for four matches in a row in 2025 and, when he was included in the latest fixture against Benfica in the Champions League, it was due to the injury of Dani Olmo.
Despite these decisions by Hansi Flick, Fati remains determined to stay at Barcelona. He believes that he can regain a prominent role and is unwilling to give up on his ambition to return to being a first-choice player for the club, as he was in previous seasons.
The Blaugrana No. 10 wants to continue at the club – a sentiment he has shared with his teammates, coaches, and club executives, while his agent, Jorge Mendes, has communicated the same to Barcelona’s management as well.
Even though Jose Mourinho’s Fenerbahce are pushing for a late move, the chances of Fati leaving appear very slim.
