With the season entering its final stretch and Barcelona still fighting on all fronts, with a historic treble still within reach, Ronald Araujo, one of the team’s captains, has found himself at the centre of criticism.

Questions have been asked about his ability to adapt to the high defensive line tactic employed by Hansi Flick. The noise has been particularly loud after this week’s clash against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park.

Although the team lost the match, they secured qualification for the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since Araujo was promoted from the reserves.

Araujo fully focused amid wave of criticism

Despite the murmurs surrounding his recent form, Araujo, according to SPORT, remains more focused than ever. He has not let external negativity affect him and is fully committed to improving.

Crucially, the Barcelona captain maintains a strong relationship with head coach Flick, which has been key to staying confident for what lies ahead.

The defender continues to work with determination each day, convinced of his role in the squad and fully aligned with the team’s collective goals.

Araujo is happy with the group’s current position, especially after several years in which results did not favour the Catalan side.

Physically, after spending the first half of the season sidelined due to a muscle injury sustained while playing for Uruguay in the Copa America, he is now in strong condition. Mentally, he appears calm and aware of the significance of the moment.

With six weeks left until the outcomes in the Copa del Rey, La Liga, and Champions League are decided, Araujo is fully focused on helping Barça finish the season strongly.

There has been some speculation about his future despite signing a contract renewal until 2031. However, the Barcelona captain is ignoring all the outside noise and has his sights firmly set on helping the team win the treble.
