Barcelona sporting director Deco is ready to reignite his pursuit of a member of the attacking ranks at Premier League giants Liverpool.
That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Luis Díaz as the player in question.
The name of attacker Díaz of course took its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital throughout last summer’s transfer window.
As much came after the 27-year-old was identified as a leading target on the part of Deco and co, amid Barcelona’s search for reinforcements on the left flank.
In the end, no such transfer was forthcoming, with Díaz having since gone on to play a leading role under the watch of new Liverpool boss Arne Slot.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the Blaugrana’s interest has not yet been brought to an end.
In fact, the Camp Nou brass remain more than keen on his signing.
As per a report from Sport:
‘Deco is more and more interested in Luis Díaz, from Liverpool. He is convinced that he can be the missing piece for Barça to make the definitive leap.’
Though the operation remains a challenging one, Barcelona are hopeful that the lack of progress in contract talks between the Colombian and Liverpool could open the door to a potential transfer next summer.
