Barcelona are heading into the summer with a clear transfer priority, and it is not a goalkeeper.

According to a recent update from SPORT, manager Hansi Flick is focused on signing a new left-wing forward.

The outlet mentions that after the season ended, Flick and sporting director Deco met to set goals for the upcoming campaign, keeping in mind the club’s financial issues.

The outcome of that meeting was clear that the top priority is to bring in a forward who can play on the left side of the attack.

Among the main targets are Liverpool’s Luis Diaz and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford. Both players fit the profile Flick is looking for, which is fast, skilled, and able to create chances from the wing.

Goalkeeper situation considered resolved

While there had been talk earlier about possibly bringing in a new goalkeeper, that idea has now been shelved.

Flick believes that the return of Marc-Andre ter Stegen from his knee injury has closed that chapter. The German goalkeeper is back to full fitness and is expected to be the starting choice next season.

Deco agrees with Flick’s stance. With limited funds available, they understand that not every position can be strengthened this summer.

That is why both are choosing to focus on what they see as the biggest need, a strong addition on the left wing.

Flick is open to market opportunities but won’t let them distract from his plan. The main idea is to keep most of the current squad intact and only make changes where it truly matters.

If there is enough room in the budget, the priority will be to sign a top-quality left winger.

Barcelona fans can expect a calm and focused approach this summer, with a firm eye on getting the right player for the attack rather than making unnecessary signings elsewhere.
