Although it has not been formally confirmed, Barcelona look set for the pre-season tour of Asia after the end of the ongoing season.

It has been reported before that the club is preparing for a series of friendly matches, something that is expected to draw significant crowds and, more importantly, generate considerable revenue.

Given the information we have, Barcelona will play two matches in South Korea and one in Jana. Interestingly, it has also been suggested that discussions regarding the addition of a fourth game in Japan are also underway.

Tour could yield a significant sum for the club

According to reports from SPORT, Barcelona are expecting to draw at least €20 million from this tour.

The breakdown of this figure includes €15 million in sure-shot income, with another €5 million likely coming from performance-based incentives, commercial agreements, and sponsorship deals.

Interestingly, it has been suggested that if all commercial targets are met, their total earnings could reach €25 million.

For what it is worth, this financial boost will be a welcome boost for the team, especially in offsetting the impact of their absence from the expanded FIFA Club World Cup.

While missing out on this extravagant event initially appeared to be a major setback for the Blaugrana, their Asia tour could compensate some of this financial loss.

FIFA mulls over Barcelona’s participation in CWC

However, in recent turn of events, it has come to light that Barcelona may still have an opportunity to compete in the Club World Cup.

Reports have indicated that discussions are ongoing within FIFA regarding a potential invitation for the Catalan giants to join the tournament. Notably, this comes after the suspension of Mexico’s Club Leon, which has opened up a spot.

While no decision has been made yet, Barcelona are seen as strong contenders to fill this void, and as developments continue to unfold, the situation remains something to keep a keen eye on.
