Barcelona fans expected to provide special reception for one player during Real Betis clash | OneFootball

The home fans in attendance at Barcelona’s meeting with Real Betis on Wednesday have been tipped to provide a rousing reception for one member of Hansi Flick’s squad.

The player in question? Ronald Araújo.

It has of course proven something of a whirlwind last 24 hours for defender Araújo in Catalunya’s capital.

This comes after widespread reports assuring that the Uruguayan had made the decision to depart Barcelona this month were followed by confirmation of quite the opposite on Wednesday morning.

As per a whole host of reliable sources, Araújo has instead opted to reject the advances of Italian heavyweights Juventus, in favour of staying put at the Camp Nou through January and beyond.

And such a major decision has not gone at all unappreciated on the part of the Blaugrana faithful.

As per a report from Víctor Navarro of COPE, the expectation is that ‘there will be special applause and cheers for Ronald Araújo’ during tonight’s Copa del Rey meeting between Barca and Real Betis.
